Data Removal & Account Deletion
At Givore, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how your data is handled when you delete your account, and how you can request additional data removal. We comply with GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure).
Delete Your Account from the App
You can delete your account directly from the Givore app. Go to Settings → Delete Account, type "DELETE" to confirm, and enter your password. The process is immediate and you will receive a confirmation email.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you delete your account through the app, your profile is anonymized rather than fully deleted. This means your personal information is removed, but community content you contributed is preserved to maintain the integrity of conversations and shared knowledge.
Personal Data That Is Permanently Removed
- Login sessions and authentication tokens
- Push notification tokens (FCM)
- All notifications
- Saved items and bookmarks
- Blocked user relationships
- Reservations
- Search alerts
- Your profile photo (permanently deleted)
- User interaction data (impression history, views, clicks, saves)
Profile Data That Is Anonymized
- Display name → replaced with "Removed user"
- Email address → replaced with a random, non-identifiable address
- Phone number → removed
- Profile description → removed
- Password → removed
- Social login information (Google, Apple, etc.) → removed
- Location data → removed
Community Content That Is Preserved
- Posts you created — attributed to "Removed user"
- Comments you wrote — attributed to "Removed user"
- Ideas you submitted — attributed to "Removed user"
- Reactions you made — attributed to "Removed user"
- Chat messages — your participation is marked as "left the conversation"
This content is preserved in accordance with GDPR Article 17(3)(a), which permits retention of data necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, and for maintaining the integrity of community discussions.
Request Full Content Deletion
If you want all your content permanently deleted — including posts, comments, ideas, and reactions — you can request this by contacting our support team. Upon verification of your identity, we will permanently remove your account and all associated content from our systems. This action is irreversible.
Request Partial Data Deletion
You may also request deletion of specific data while keeping your account active. To do so:
- Send an email to our support team using the button below
- Include the following information:
- Your registered email address
- Specific data types you want deleted
- Date range (if applicable)
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Verification — We will verify your identity to protect your account security
- Processing — Your specified data will be removed from our systems
- Confirmation — You will receive an email confirming the deletion

In-app account deletion: Processed immediately. You will receive a confirmation email.
Email requests (full or partial deletion): Typically processed within 30 days.
Data retention: Some data may be retained for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., backup systems, legal compliance). After the retention period, all remaining data is permanently deleted.
Important Notes
- Account anonymization through the app is immediate and irreversible
- Content attributed to "Removed user" cannot be re-linked to your identity
- Full content deletion (via email request) permanently removes all your contributions
- We may need to verify your identity before processing email requests
- Legal obligations may require us to retain certain data
