In Barcelona, leaving furniture on the street outside of authorized days can earn you a fine. The good news: the pickup service is free and well organized, with a specific day for every single street in the city. Here’s how it works.

How to find your day

Every street in Barcelona has its own pickup day for furniture and bulky items. To check yours:

  • Cuidem Barcelona recycling assistant
  • Phone 010
  • Free civismo line: 900 226 226

How to leave the furniture

  • On your street’s scheduled day.
  • In front of your building entrance.
  • Between 20:00 and 22:00.

Special cases

If you live in El Rectoret, Mas Sauró, or Mas Guimbau: call 900 226 226 to request pickup and put the furniture out on Tuesdays from 20:00. They only collect items that have been called in.

If you live in the old core of Vallvidrera, Font del Mont, or Tibidabo: call 900 226 226 and put items out Mondays 20:00-22:00.

What gets collected and what doesn’t

Gets collected: Sofas, doors, furniture, chairs, wooden boxes and planks, blinds, broken toys.

Does NOT get collected:

  • Construction debris and bathroom fixtures.
  • Fridges, freezers, or air conditioners with CFCs: take them to a Punt Verd (Green Point).

Same-day pickup (paid service)

If you have a lot to dispose of and can’t wait, the city offers a paid service that picks up within 36 hours, Monday to Friday.

Deixalleries (recycling centers)

If you want to drop the furniture off yourself, deixalleries are free with ID. There are fixed and mobile sites across the city.

Before tossing it, consider this

A lot of furniture that ends up on the curb is in perfect shape. Before booking pickup, post it on Givore: upload a photo, someone from your neighborhood comes to pick it up for free, and you skip even waiting for your street’s day.
